Marianne Ault-Riché, LCSW
11 Homer Lane, Menlo Park CA 94025
I was raised in a bilingual, bicultural home in New York’s Hudson River Valley. After undergraduate studies at NYU and the Sorbonne, I obtained a masters degree in clinical social work at the University of Maryland and did a post-graduate year at the Menninger Clinic, then in Topeka, Kansas. I was privileged to be sent by Menninger to study with the Mothers and Fathers of Family Therapy all over the United States when the field was in its infancy.
As a result of my exposure to the major schools of thought, I developed an Integrated Model of Family Therapy which was taught in the School of Psychiatry at Menninger. During this period I travelled to teach and supervise throughout the Midwest, published several articles and directed professional conferences. I also cofounded “Talking Straight and Fighting Fair Workshops” with Harriet Lerner, PhD. upon which the best-selling The Dance of Anger was based.
In 1994, I moved to California where I have had a private practice and raised two thriving children. I have taught Family Therapy at UC Berkeley’s School of Social Work and served as a consultant for the International School of the Peninsula in Palo Alto. In Kansas I am licensed as an MFT and in California as a LCSW. In 2014 I became certified in EMDR Therapy and in 2018 became an Approved Consultant.
